FASTTRAK SATA150 TX2 DRIVER
Any suggestions? How do I use the XP driver instead of the original in order to get past the incompability problem reported by the Vista upgrade advisor?
I highly recommend over other cheaper cards. Although the manual states you will not need to change BIOS settings, beware, I did and rightfully so - my mobo required it. Beware to change your BIOS to tell mobo to boot off new drives. My Fasttrak sata150 tx2 now greatly lags. Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

My partition magic luckily is working now. Just as a reference for anyone, I followed the following steps: 1.
In the hardware tab, I selected device manager. In it, I first searched if the device manager recognizes the GB hard drive.
It did recognize the drive. That means, we are on a safer side. There is no way, that we get fasttrak sata150 tx2 data back from the drive because linux installer formatted the drive while installing it. So, if anyone needs to install on an existing drive and prefers to retain the data on it, make a backup of it and also create a partition before linux is installed.
No boot device - FastTrak S150 Promise without RAID array
Replies: 3 Last Fasttrak sata150 tx2PM. I spent a few hours trying to find a bios update for the motherboard without success - hoping it would have a SCSI option or something else to help me. I think the problem is me using the FastTrak card without an array. I can't know how much background you had in PC architecture of that day but it is possible to add bootable cards back then but we can't know exactly what the FastTrak does when you turn off RAID. The motherboard however should be set to SCSI. I don't want to write why.
This is a bit too technical for me. Could you detail it a bit? Also, more detail on Compatible versus Enhanced mode.
